In everyday life, we often use adjectives to give information about objects and to point to objects. Adjectives can be extremely useful for conveying information about objects in different categories. For example, adjectives can give information about the color, number, position of an object. With quantitative adjectives, we provide information about the quantity of any object. The object to which we provide information may be a human or a different inanimate.

There are various Quantitative Adjectives that we can use for all assets. In today’s article, we will examine different types of Quantitative Adjectives and their meanings in sentences.

A few

Since the sentence structure is positive, if we want to point to more than one object or person, we use the adjective a few. When we use this adjective, we do not specify the exact amount of what we are pointing out. Therefore, this adjective is actually an adjective number adjective. When you read the sentence, you can easily understand that the number of objects pointed to is more than one, but you cannot precisely count the number. Let’s explain this with an example.

I have got a few friends so I will never be alone.

I have got a few pencils in order to take notes.

So Few

The negative state of the adjective we have described above is defined as so few. The overall downside with the sentence structure you have set up is that you should use a few instead of so few. Everything that applies to the above adjective applies to so few.

There are so few people in the class, so one can talk to each other.

There are so few pencils in my bag, so I can not barrow one to you.

There are so few examples of this subject in that book, so I could not understand it clearly.

A Little

When talking about substances that cannot be counted in quantity, we usually use the adjective a little. When we use this adjective, we make it clear that the object is more than one. But in this case, the number of objects is not important. Instead, the object is used in a wider sense.

I have got a little money, it is enough to buy this book.

I have got a little water, I can take these bills.
