One of the important responsibilities placed on our shoulders is the responsibility of raising the new generation and protecting it from deviation and misguidance. It is the responsibility of fathers and mothers for their children, and each generation for the generation that follows it, in various directions and possibilities. Here are some recommendations:
Every father must exert the same energy and effort in raising and educating his children as he does in providing them with a living. This means that just as the father is determined and works from morning until evening to spend the money he earns on the health of his children, he must also be determined, work, and care about nurturing their spirits, purifying their souls, planting the ideal values in their hearts, and making them love and believe in religion.
Eliminating the gaps between parents and children: Parents must bridge the gap and remove the gaps between them and their children, and not let them feel that they are facing life alone, within a scientific and practical program that is gradually implemented. Among these is that the father is invited to descend to the level of his children in the context of play. Taking advantage of the opportunity of vacations, as it is appropriate for fathers and mothers to schedule these vacations and trips for their children. If they intend to spend the summer in beautiful pastures, they should combine it with visiting places and spots with a religious and sectarian dimension to visit them, and gain spiritual provision from them and deepen the bond and love of children for the Ahl al Bayt (peace be upon them).
Taking care of spiritual and mental nourishment for children by choosing books, tapes and films for them, and directing them towards getting used to them. Just as the father is interested in educating himself, or going to libraries to choose his books, he must also choose the appropriate book and culture for his children, and never be stingy with money in this regard.
Memorizing religious texts, and encouraging children to memorize, especially memorizing verses of the Holy Quran, supplications, and hadiths of the infallible Imams, peace be upon them. When children memorize a Surah, a part of a supplication, or a sermon from Nahjul Balagha, they interact with what they memorize in an innocent, instinctive way, and all the ideas contained in the Islamic texts are embedded in their subconscious mind, to be imprinted in their behavior later on, to prevent them from falling into sins and transgressions.
