Conflict and quarrels between brothers
Almost every family - in which more than two children live together – has to face the quarrels between brothers. This quarrel is considered normal, it is mostly due to several reasons - which are mostly trivial in the eyes of the parents, as it is either a dispute over the ownership of a game or a personal item.
Or if one of them mocks the other for his shortcomings in his lessons or for a characteristic of him, then the reaction is quarrels and conflict. Or the conflict may be to impose authority, especially since (the firstborn) wants to have the authority of the father and the rest of the brothers have to obey him, comply with his command, and take his opinions.
So quarreling is a natural phenomenon and there is no room for fear of its consequences as long as it is still within the reasonable, limited and customary framework in most families. Therefore, it is good for parents to pay attention to some preventive measures in the matter of quarrels, and these are the most prominent of them:
-Filling the child's time with useful work, whether this work is academic or a hobby; Because unemployment is the mother of vice.
- The atmosphere of the house should be full of kindness, tenderness and love.
- The tone in which parents communicate should be friendly and calm.
- Not favoring one child over another to prevent envy and jealousy.
- Avoid ridicule and belittling one of the children by his parents or the rest of his siblings.
- Preserving children's private ownership, and not interfering with or forcing them to do their work.
- Parents should not express their concern and dissatisfaction with life and the social and economic situation in front of their children, and not to multiply the pessimistic and gloomy images; because that reflects negatively on children.
- Parents are advised, when children quarrel, to leave these children, or at least get used to solving their problems by themselves in a calm atmosphere under the supervision of the parents.
