Students from the Russian Technical University "Tambov" have created a system of electromagnetic vacuum barriers that can protect installations from small and very small drones.
The innovation was unveiled at the "Archipelago 2023" tech-enlightening symposium.
The owner of the project, Roman Karikh, said that the protection system is an electromagnetic field that interferes with the electronic devices that control the drone. According to the type of drone, a wide jamming can be formed, that is, over the entire frequency range, or a narrow, directed jamming that is used to close the control channel of a specific device.
Roman Karikh explained that the students' project from Tambov differs from the rest of the anti-drone devices by using neural network technology that forms narrow multi-beam directed radiation patterns that affect a particular drone.
At the heart of the innovation is a digital network antenna with a high coefficient of reinforcement and a programmed wireless platform, which reduces the price of the system and allows air traffic to be silenced wirelessly without the use of large amounts of electrical energy.
At the symposium, he revealed an experimental model of the system, which underwent a number of tests.
