This is what we refer to as a spark or flash of intelligence—brainstorming. Each of us has the ability to think in non-traditional ways and come up with a suitable and unique solution.
Example Case
Executives at a cosmetics company held a meeting to brainstorm a new product to market for a special occasion, in addition to their traditional products like shampoo, skincare creams, and other women-focused items.
Through their discussions and suggestions, they realized that they lacked a product specifically for men. One of them asked: “Why don’t we launch a new product for men—something that a woman can buy as a gift for her husband on this special occasion?”
Indeed, the new men’s product was showcased at the exhibition among the wide array of women’s products—and it achieved high sales.
