Nervous conditions in adolescents and young people should not last long, and they must be controlled and treated from the beginning of their emergence, because if they are repeated and last for a long time, they may remain chronic throughout life. It is the duty of parents and educators to provide their children with natural rights, and not to harm their personality; because that will push them to rebel and deviate.
In order to control the behavior of adolescents, we must take into account the following points:
First: Search for the reason: Knowing the reason or motive that drives the young person to take a certain action helps us determine the correct way to confront the young person, as in light of it we deal with him in a way that suits correcting his behavior and conduct. The reason for the young person's nervous tension may be one of the symptoms of puberty. Sometimes it is due to his failure to achieve one of his wishes.
Second: Keeping up with the young person and satisfying him: We must not disagree with the young person too much in some simple matters, such as asking him to achieve one of his legitimate wishes, as this may cause the emergence of bad habits in the young person's behavior, or he may receive a psychological shock that causes him many problems and troubles.
When a father or educator sees his son in a tense, nervous state that cannot be controlled, he should go along with his son and deal with him calmly, and not make matters worse, otherwise the problem will escalate into a broader framework that may never be controlled.
Third: Guiding the young man and gaining his trust: One of the factors that helps in guiding young people is to make them trust us on the one hand, and to trust their amazing energies and abilities on the other hand, so we assign them some responsibilities and ask them to implement them. The love and affection of parents for their children makes the children embark on life and plunge into it with activity, effectiveness and hope.
Fourth: Warning and caution: Sometimes, the young man commits some illegal acts and behaviors, so he must be warned by his parents, such as telling him that his work does not match the family's reputation. If the young man does not pay attention to this warning, he must be warned more seriously next time.
Fifth: The model and role model: The more we treat young people with good morals and correct behavior, the more our behavior will become a model for them, as young people watch our behavior with open eyes. Therefore, parents and educators must deal with their children according to Islamic morals.
