How to maintain mental health

Psychologists suggest a set of conditions that are presented in the form of advice and guidance for the individual who wants to maintain his psychological health against injury and personality disorders. These are the most important pieces of advice:

First: Knowing oneself:

This is a basic condition, as each one of us must know the extent of his abilities, energies, and areas of his faults and weaknesses, and act on this basis, so it was said: (May Allah have mercy on a person who knows his own worth), then he must focus on one goal, without distraction in the mind In several goals.

Second: Focus on the present:

(The past is gone, and what is hoped for is unseen, and you have nothing but the hour in which you are), a saying that summarizes much of what should be said in the terminology of the three times, (past, present, and future), as the sound personality is the one whose owner can deal with these times in an objective and realistic way, so there is no harm in thinking about the past to draw from it the lesson and morals that benefit us in the present.

Third: The correct view of success and failure:

Success and failure are two inevitable things in life, and they are changeable, as there is no permanent success, nor permanent failure, as life is full of successes and frustrations, and escaping from something for fear of failure is worse than failure itself, and whoever does that harms his psychological health with what is more bitter than failure without realizing it.

Fourth: Peacefulness and the way to solve problems:

We do not mean surrender by peacefulness, but rather patience in the face of hardships, and waiting for things to become clear and clear. And anticipating the appropriate circumstances, otherwise our example will become the example of the one in which the poet said:

 

(Like someone who butts a rock one day to weaken it... but it does not harm it, and the ibex weakened his horn)

Fifth: The necessity of having a friend:

The necessity of having a friend, for having a loyal, educated, and aware friend is a blessing. It is necessary for the soul as vitamins are necessary for the body.

Sixth: Practicing recreation:

The soul needs rest, just as the body needs it. How could it not, when a person, by his very nature, forms this close organic connection between the soul and the body? Therefore, one day a week must be set aside to relieve the soul from the worries and troubles of the workdays and to rest.
