Anger is normal and may even be a healthy feeling, but it is important to deal with it in a positive way. You can follow these tips to help your child control his anger:
First: You must insist that the child uses words instead of actions to express his anger. The child must express his anger frankly and show the reasons for this anger if possible.
Second: Help your child connect his feelings to their causes. Talk to him to find out the reasons behind his anger. Sometimes a young child needs help to put his hand on the secret of his anger.
Let's ask him, for example:
"Are you angry with (Ahmed) because he took your toy?"
Thus, he will soon be able to express his distress and the reasons that made him feel that way, instead of resorting directly to impulsive reactions.
Third: You must make the child understand that his feelings are heard and accepted (but this may not always change things).
Say to him: "You are right to be angry with me, I did not hear you, but now I hear you."
"Is there another action you can do to feel that you are okay instead of annoying your brother?"
Fourth: You must teach your child directly that hitting is not an acceptable way to deal with anger. Confront the matter directly and mention the negative consequences every time the child resorts to hitting. You must insist that the child do what he should do in the first place. Fifth: Help your child express his desires. He will usually start complaining and grumbling about the things he does not want. He needs your help to be more positive...
Sixth: Be a role model for them. They will most likely tend to act the way you act rather than say what you say; so you should be careful to be a role model for what you want them to be. When you get angry, express your anger frankly through easy words and always.
