We must build ourselves to perform this function, and this duty is of course linked to the presence of the child. The father’s righteousness and corruption inevitably affect the child, and it was reported from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family) that he said: (Allah will prosper through the righteousness of the believing man, his child, and the children of his son). Imam al-Baqir (peace be upon him) also says in this regard: (Children are protected by the righteousness of their parents.)

Yes, parents must prepare themselves for this stage and fulfill this responsibility in the best way and prove their skill and competence.

Much has been said about the things that a person must pay attention to and build himself according to. We will point out some of them below:

1- Awareness: It represents the first step in the life of a person who will open his eyes and think about the state of the phenomena that surround him and how he can live a stable and happy life, and take different positions.

Consciousness has a very wide field. As it includes knowledge of the self and various phenomena, knowledge of status and self-worth, and also knowledge of religion and its various teachings, and a person will remain deficient in educating others unless he knows himself, his role, and his status.

A person who wants to become a father should know what is going on in society, what factors affect him, and how to surrender to positive influences to escape negative influences.

Lack of awareness complicates the educational process and makes it fail. It can be acquired by resorting to those with experience, books and literature, and to those who have passed this exam with remarkable success, especially those who have been able to raise good and useful children for their society.

2- Providing halal food: Food has a very important role in building a person, and whoever wants to advance on the ladder of building and righteousness must pay attention to what he eats, and halal food provides the reasons for many successes.

How can we purify our souls, purify them, and lead them on the path of goodness and righteousness, while we eat the food of suspicion, wear the clothes of fame, live in usurped homes, and live in corrupt and deviant atmospheres?

The polluted soul never prays, and if it does pray, it is not answered, and it is not possible to establish a good relationship between it and its Creator.

Just as food affects the sperm and the effect of speech, what will that person be like who will develop from sperm tied to forbidden or suspicious food, and what are his characteristics and characteristics?

Attention must also be given to the child’s food after he is born from pure sperm, as this will affect his upbringing, character, and characteristics. He will be prepared for moral and behavioral deviation if he grows up on forbidden food.

3- Faith and belief: There is an important note in this topic, which is that the father’s belief in the reckoning, the Book, the Day of Resurrection, the reward, and the consequences of actions, and his belief in the function of fatherhood and divine trust, greatly affects the child’s upbringing.

A father who does not believe in all his actions that he is being watched by his Creator cannot find and strive to raise his children, nor does he ever feel that this newborn is a part of him and that he is responsible for his fate and future.

Such children do not trust their parents because they do not relate to them in faith or belief and will not comply with their orders.

Faith is a necessary factor in providing security and confidence for the father in the path he is taking, and it also provides the child’s belief in what he hears from his father and sees.

4- Work: The father is considered a role model for his child and an example of his work. What the father does represents an argument for his child who will imitate him in that same work - whether it is good or bad - and how many parents provide their children with corrupt models through his work and behavior, and this leads to the child’s corruption, of course.

Parents are responsible for the work of their children, and what they do represents a lesson for them, so the actions of the parents must be wise and pure with all impurities, and their actions are purposeful and flow in the path of the Creator’s satisfaction and are based on divine teachings so that the child can walk in the path of goodness and happiness.

5- Attention and caution: While exercising his responsibility, the father must beware of afflictions because diseases, corruption, and drug addiction affect the children, and many of the causes of organic and physical deficiency, mental retardation, and chronic diseases are linked to the parents and whether one or one of them suffers from syphilis and addiction to alcohol and drugs in the past and in the present.

The father should at least be honest with himself in order to succeed in raising his child, and - without shame - correct his faults and stay away from what is forbidden, and hold fast to his Creator through worshiping Him and seeking help from the Qur’an so that he can create the faculty of piety in his children.

The father must also build himself up and beware of mistrust, love of prestige, weakness of self, arrogance, and arrogance, and replace that with self-esteem, dignity, high determination, reason, dream, knowledge, and courage, and to keep in mind the pursuit of goodness for others and a good opinion of them, in order to influence these qualities on the human spirit and build it strong and healthy. The effect of this is passed on to his children.
