Samsung plans to launch new laptops running Chrome OS with high-end specifications during the coming period.
According to recent press reports, the Korean company will launch these computers in line with the “ChromeBook Plus” standards recently set by Google, which are standards for Chromebook computers with high performance and relatively high specifications that enable them to obtain support for their operating system for many years.
These criteria include the presence of 12th generation Intel Core i3 processors or later, or AMD Ryzen 3 7000 processors or later, with 8 GB of RAM or more, and a storage capacity of no less than 128 GB, in addition to a screen and webcam of no less resolution about Full HD.
Chromebook Plus laptops are eligible to receive Chrome OS updates from Google for a period of no less than ten years.
Samsung's upcoming Chromebook Plus devices are expected to come with 12th generation Intel Core i3 processors - most likely the N305 model - or other higher-end processors.
Several companies, such as Asus, Acer, Lenovo, and HP, have recently unveiled some new versions of laptops under the Chromebook Plus umbrella, with prices ranging between 400 and 800 US dollars, depending on the specifications of each version.
Samsung is one of the first companies to issue Chromebook computers, and it currently has the distinctive Galaxy Chromebook series of computers on the market.
