Dr. Yekaterina Demyanovskaya, a neurologist, explained how magnetic storms and solar eclipses affect human health.
According to her, natural phenomena affect the nervous system, and weather sensitivity is attributed to disorders of the autonomic nervous system.
She says: “It is believed that weather factors lead to subtle changes in the body, affecting the autonomic nervous system. Therefore, even healthy people, during geomagnetic storms or a solar eclipse may suffer from undue stress, increased anxiety, and sensitivity to physical pain and other external factors.”
The doctor points out that changing the geomagnetic field can affect the condition of the blood vessel walls and blood clotting.
“It can slow blood flow in the capillaries, and increase pressure inside the joints, eyes and skull,” she says. “Accordingly, during a geomagnetic storm, sensitive people may complain of high or low blood pressure, dizziness, headaches, and pain in the eyeballs and joints.” She says. “It is estimated that approximately 70 percent of strokes, myocardial infarctions, high blood pressure, and heart attacks occur specifically during geomagnetic storms.”
According to her, a solar eclipse poses a danger to people suffering from heart arrhythmia, osteoporosis, neuromuscular diseases and kidney disease.
