Among the important things that must be noted in friendship in order for it to continue and not lead to bad results filled with heartbreak and regret, the limits and laws of friendship should be taken care of, and not to be excessive, taking the side of firmness, precaution, and moderation. Because conditions and circumstances often change, and interests and benefits collide, and differences appear in the relationship between friends, and love turns into hostility, hatred, anger, and revenge.
In this case, the friend who is aware of the secrets of his former friend can deal him painful blows that may make his life difficult, and may destroy him at times.
Therefore, we see that Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) prevented excessive affection and love for a friend to the extent of revealing private and dangerous secrets.
Yes, Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) presents an elegant type of education that a person should adhere to in his life path and always be moderate in his love for his friends, preserving his dangerous secrets and not revealing them to any friend, because a friend may be an enemy and he will destroy him.
This is Islamic education, whose foundations and roots were strengthened and rooted by the Messenger of mercy and humanity, Muhammad (PBUH) and his pure household (peace be upon them), who sacrificed themselves for the guidance and education of the individual, society and humanity as a whole. We must follow in their footsteps and spread such integrated education, so as to reap its fruits and move up the ladder of integration and civilization.
